Joseph Anthony Faella

Joseph Anthony Faella, age 77, of Leicester, NC passed away on May 23, 2025 in Asheville, NC.  Joseph was born in Queens, NY on December 20, 1947 to the late Joe Faella and Helen Faella.

Joseph proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. He worked as a correctional officer in Orange County, FL.  Throughout his life, Joseph enjoyed taking spontaneous road trips and going to Tennessee to visit good friends, Don and Becky. He enjoyed all his caregivers and friends at Mountain Care Adult Day.  He loved his pets, especially his Great Dane, Lyla, and working with all of his farm animals. His favorite birds were the barn swallows and cardinals. His two favorite songs were Holy Forever(for his love of Jesus) and Amazing Grace(for God's love, mercy, and grace towards us).

Joseph is survived by his loving spouse of 12 years, Wendy Hackett Faella, and her son, Kevin.  His children also survive him, Joe (Tammy), of Florida, Tom (Jen), of Florida, and Christine (Sammy), of Florida; his brother, George Faella, of New York; his grandchildren, Jeremy, Sunny, Carolyn, Riley, Anna, Esteban, and Julian, all of Florida, and his cousins, Gary, Elizabeth, Thomas, Karen, Judith, Anthony, Agnes, Anthony, Donald, Thomas, Carolee, all of New York, Joanne of FL, Donna of NJ, and Franklin of PA.

A memorial service will be held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery on September 10, 2025 at 12:00 PM with Pastor Rendell Hipp officiating.
