Judith, or “Judi” as she was known by friends passed away at Mission Memorial Hospital on Friday, May the 28th. She was the bank manager at SunTrust Bank in Fort Lauderdale, Florida prior to moving to Arden, NC in 1986. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, James Donai, and their children, Sean French Gipson, Morgan and Catherine French, and Steven and Jennifer Donai. She is also survived by her brother, Douglas Guy, and his wife Carmen. She had five grandchildren: Jessica Bell, Caimen and Marina French, and Teagan and Holden Donai, and two great-grandchildren: Tristan and Korbin Bell.
Judi loved to wear nice clothes and have her nails done. She lived her life according to Emily Post always presenting a polished demeanor and running a proper household. She had many interests including sewing and needlepoint, keeping saltwater and freshwater fish tanks where she bred angelfish and guppies, growing orchids and herbs, and she loved her dogs Angie who preceded her in death and Max the Shitzhu. In her later years she spent her time researching her family tree on Ancestry.com. She will be missed by family and friends alike.
Per her wishes, there will not be a Memorial Ceremony. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses and all who were involved in her care of the 5th floor E wing Mission Memorial Hospital. Also, a special thank you to the caring folks of Hospice who also provided outstanding care during this difficult time.
