Karen Christina Cox, age 60, passed away September 11, 2022 in Sapphire, NC.
Karen was born in Frankfurt, Germany to the late Kenneth E. Cox Jr. and Patricia Willin Gillies, both deceased.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mary Glen Radford Cox, Kenneth E. Cox Sr., Helen Willin and Bernard Willin; and uncle, Glenn Cox.
Karen is survived by her son, Joshua Jimenez of Long Island, NY; brother Craig Cox and his wife Suzanne of Northborough, MA; nieces Genevieve Cox, Rose Cox and nephew Kenneth Cox of Northborough MA; sister Amy Cox Baxter of Miami, FL; niece Ashley Baxter and nephew Lawson Baxter of Miami, FL; lifetime friend, Sherma Katz of Jacksonville, FL and Sapphire, NC and significant other, Alain Foster of New York, NY.
Karen was well traveled calling many places home over the years including Frankfurt and Berlin Germany; Hong Kong; Miami, FL; Tallahassee, FL; and Shinhopple, NY. She received her education from Westminster Christian High School, Miami, FL and Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL. She later pursued careers in acting, art, and hospitality as a Talent Coordinator, and as a Production Assistant. Karen was a member of the Screen Actors Guild. She also pursued interests in spiritual questing, reading, and traveling. Karen was a loving mother and was most proud of her son Joshua.
Karen is survived by her former husband of 7 years, David Jimenez. Per her wishes her ashes will be scattered in Sapphire, NC; Shinhopple, NY; and Key Biscayne, FL.
