Kenneth Singleton Obituary

Kenneth “Ken” David Singleton, 78, of Asheville, NC, passed away on January 4th, 2022 at his home in Asheville.  Kenneth was born on March 17, 1943 in Fletcher, NC to the late Thomas Ed Singleton Sr., who passed away in 1985, and the late Lillian Maude Wilkie Singeleton, who passed away in 2003.  Kenneth served in the United States Army, attended Fletcher School, and completed Basic Combat, Military Justice, Airborne School, CBR, Code of Conduct, and EMT Training.  He enjoyed backpacking, hiking, camping, and bird watching.  Kenneth was also a plumber.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Dockens Singleton; his two brothers, Steve Singleton and Thomas E. Singleton Jr, and his son, Nicholas David Singleton.  Kenneth is survived by his two daughters, Bridget McGraw Stephenson (Jody), of Hendersonville, NC, and Jessica Singleton Allen (Adam), of Swannanoa, NC; his sister, Janet R. Parham, of Fletcher, NC; his granddaughters, Emily Jade Dockery and Isabelle Faye Allen, both of Swannanoa, NC, several nieces and nephews, and two step-daughters.

A memorial service and burial will take place at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, January 25th at 12:00 PM.  A special thanks to all of his friends that brought joy and laughter into his life.
