LaMichael Shawn Carter

LaMichael Shawn "Stu" Carter of Asheville, North Carolina, died Tuesday, April 12, 2022. Born July 23, 1994 to Wendy Brooks and Randy Shaw Carter in Asheville, North Carolina, he was twenty-seven. 

 LaMichael was preceded in death by his uncle, Anthony "T.C." Carter; grandfather, Larry Brooks; and grandmother, Melodye Carter. 

 He is survived by his son, Greyson Redfern, and Greyson's mother, Kelsey Redfern of Asheville; his wife, Timallah Carter; his parents, both of Asheville; his nanny, Pauline Brooks of Asheville; grandfather, Randy Shaw; siblings, Corey Hudgens, Unique Wardlaw, and Tristan and Greyson Carter, all of Asheville; aunts, Charlotte Carter, and Cara Haney, both of Asheville; many beloved cousins, including January Carter and Robert Lytle; and Shantrice Ponder of Asheville. 

 A service will be held to honor LaMichael in the chapel of Asheville Area Alternative (702 Riverside Drive, Asheville, North Carolina 28801) on Monday, May 9th. Visitation will be between eleven and noon with services beginning at noon. A candlelight vigil to follow will be announced at the service.
