La Verne Ursula Buzdogan Busbee of Fletcher, North Carolina went to be with her Jesus Saturday, April 23, 2022 at the age of sixty-three. She was born September 30, 1958 to Margarete De Leon and the late Georg Buzdogan in Chicago, Illinois.
La Verne grew up mostly in Germany but had strong family ties to the US. She came back to the US as an adult and later in life she received a calling to minister God’s love to the children, the poor and hospice patients of Africa and India. To follow her calling she sold all her earthly possessions, left a good career with the NC Prison System and headed out to preach God’s word and save the lost. She ministered to thousands of people and led countless people to a relationship with Jesus.
She wanted to go back to India but the Lord instead took her to be with Him. Her mission on earth is over but she will not be forgotten amongst her many dear friends and family.
She is survived by her mother Margarethe De Leon, brothers Rick De Leon, Marco De Leon and Georg Buzogan Jr., and sister Sonja Karpich of Texas; daughter Melanie Rück of Sachsenheim, Germany;
A service will be held to honor La Verne at two o’clock the afternoon of Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Lake Hills Church in Candler where she was a member. Senior Pastor James Walker will officiate the service, and interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lake Hills Church in care of La Verne Busbee.
