Larry Ray Dotson, Sr.

Larry Ray Dotson Sr., age 72, a native of Buncombe county, passed away on November 26th, 2022 at his home in Asheville.  Larry was born on February 20th, 1950 to the late James Ray Dotson and Mildred Redmon Dotson in Buncombe county.  Larry graduated from AC Reynolds High School in 1968.

Larry is survived by his loving spouse, Sherry Dotson; his siblings, Charles Dotson (Radeana Dotson) and Daryl Dotson (Shannon Dotson); and his children, Larry Dotson Jr. (Hope Dotson) (Amanda Dotson) (Allie Dotson) and Kristie Dotson-Owen (Galen Owen) (Brittany, Bradley, and Ben).  He is also survived by 2 great grandchildren, Aleigha and Keagen, and many nieces and nephews.

Larry was an avid bowler, deacon, Sunday school teacher, and volunteer fire fighter.  He volunteered at the local food pantry, was a cemetery manager, a member of the Biltmore masonic lodge, and a Gideon.  He tuned pianos for 58 years, had a love for gardening, and was a grill master in smoking meat.  He was also a member of Oakley Baptist Church.

The Dotson family would like to express their gratitude to Care Partners of Asheville and to the many friends and family that have prayed, made calls, or sent texts during his long journey.  He loved everyone very much.
