Linda Howard Haynes

Linda Howard Haynes, age 69, of Asheville, North Carolina, died at her home on August 14, 2019.

Linda was born in Asheville on April 22, 1950, to Belva Bradley Howard and Esley Howard. She was a lifelong resident of Asheville, and worked as a cafeteria manager at A. C. Reynolds Middle School. She enjoyed being at home and loved watching hummingbirds, spending time with her family, and her dogs.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Linda is survived by her spouse of 53 years, Ron Haynes; her children, Beth Haynes Watkins (Bryan) of Statesville, NC, R. L. Haynes (Donna) of Burnsville, NC, and Steven Haynes of Kentucky; her siblings, J. B. Howard (Brenda) of Lincolnton, NC, Billy Howard, Bruce Howard, Nancy Howard, and Sally Smeltzer of Asheville, and Carolyn Price (Herman) of Etowah, NC; her grandchildren, Sarah Haynes Crawford (Jacob) and Sydney Watkins of Statesville, and Brendan Haynes of Burnsville; her great-granddaughter Madison Burnette of Stateville; and by many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Linda’s life will be held at a later date, and the family would like to extend a special thanks to Kindred at Home for their excellent care and to A. C. Reynolds Fire Department and EMT for their care.
