Linda Lee Johns, 65, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2024.
Linda was the daughter of the late Ova Ellis Boggs and Barbara Allen Williams from Eastern Kentucky. She is survived by her husband, Raymond M Johns II, two sons, Raymond Michael Johns III of Arden and Ryan Mitchell Johns and wife ShellyAnn of Fletcher; two sisters, Donna Sue Cochran and husband Rick of Louisville Kentucky and Brenda Lou Gullett of Edinburg Indiana; three brother in-laws, Thomas and Tim Johns of Greenville Tennessee and Steven Johns and his wife Julie of Swannanoa NC. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, she cherished them all. Her stepfather, Roy Mitchell Bentley and two brothers, Johnny Ellis Boggs and Roy Michael Bentley preceded her in death.
Linda was a graduate of Morehead State University receiving a dual Master’s Degree in Business Education and Spanish. Upon graduation she began work with the USDA Forest Service in their Civilian Conservation Center Program. She later transferred to the USDA Southern Research Station in Asheville NC. Linda finished her federal career at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Oteen, North Carolina where she retired in 2014 after 33 years of federal service.
Linda was dedicated to her family and friends, Kentucky Wildcat Basketball and enjoyed reading, old movies, traveling and camping. She was an active member of the Skyland United Methodist Church and the United Women in Faith. She was also a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority and the Order of the Eastern Star. She will be loved and missed dearly by her family, friends and her Yorkie, Yoshi.
A memorial service will be held at the Skyland Methodist Church in Asheville on Saturday, February 24th at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Skyland Methodist Church, Around the Son Preschool.
