Lobo Ramon Blanco, 73, of Candler, NC, passed away on September 23, 2025 in Asheville, NC. Born on November 26, 1951, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Ramon Blanco and Maria Vasquez Blanco.
Before settling in Candler, North Carolina, Lobo lived in Jacksonville, Florida. He honorably served his country in both the United States Air Force and Navy, a testament to his dedication and patriotism. Following his military service, he worked in security at Biltmore Square Mall, where his commitment to safety and community continued. A devoted member of the Mount Pisgah Seventh Day Adventist Church, Lobo found joy in his faith, often spending time reading the Bible. He also cherished target shooting and, above all, treasured the moments spent playing with his beloved grandchildren.
Surviving Lobo is his loving spouse of 30 years, Lori J. Blanco of Candler, NC; children, Alejandro Blanco of San Diego, CA, Briana Horton (Matthew) of Candler, NC; sister, Esther Rodriguez of Fletcher, NC; grandchildren, Ariana Horton of Candler, NC, Cassie Horton of Candler, NC, Tori Horton of Candler, NC; and nieces, Desiree Waterson of Asheville, NC, Candace Waterson of Asheville, NC.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 4 pm at the Mount Pisgah Academy SDA Church. Pastor Marco Quarteroli will be officiating. A private interment was held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC.
