Lois Carol (Fox) Martelli

Lois Carol (Fox) Martelli, 87, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026. Lois lived a life centered on love and family. Born to Charles and Carolyn (Glendon) Fox on July 19, 1938, in Millville NJ, she grew up in a close family with her brothers Nelson and Giles, all of whom she now joins in peace.

At the age of 6, Lois overcame all odds after being diagnosed with polio. Her family supported her and she ultimately regained the ability to walk through strength and resilience.

Lois was predeceased by her husband Mattio Joseph “Joe” Martelli, Jr., after 23 years of marriage and two children. She later found long-term companionship with Anthony R. Esposito, who also predeceased her.

Lois is survived by her children, Mattio Joseph “Joe” Martelli III (Susan) and Gail Elaine Hartnett (Joseph); her grandchildren, Jennifer Martelli Humble (Ian), Brian Patrick Hartnett (Elizabeth), and Paige Hartnett Shapiro (Robbie); and great granddaughter Eleanor Nancy Hartnett. If you called her Mommom, know that she considered you family.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking, genealogy, travel, the outdoors, Lions Club activities and sharing cocktails and conversation with friends and family. Her home, whether in Vineland NJ, Tampa FL, or Brevard NC, was always filled with warmth - and plenty of snacks for visitors.

Throughout her 87 years, Lois touched countless lives with her warmth, humor, and quiet strength. She was known for her ability to make others feel seen and valued, whether through a thoughtful word, a shared story, or her simple presence. Her family and friends will forever remember her as a source of comfort, wisdom, and unconditional love.

Lois approached life with grace - celebrating its joys, meeting its challenges with courage, and finding beauty in everyday moments. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she nurtured, the relationships she built, and the many hearts she shaped along the way.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
