Louise Elizabeth (Allen) McBride

Louise Elizabeth Allen McBride, ninety-six, passed Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at the home of her daughter and caretaker in Asheville, North Carolina. Louise was born April 4, 1926, to the late Annie Mae and John Dewey Allen in Asheville.

Louise loved to sew, shop, can food, eat chocolate, and spend time with her caring family. She worked as a seamstress at Kellwood and at Coca-Cola, then at the Biltmore Square Mall until she was in her late eighties. Louise enjoyed telling stories of her younger years to anyone willing to listen. 

In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, James Stewart, son, James Stewart, and daughter, Pamela Dotson.

She is survived by children Radeana Dotson (Charles), Terry Stewart (Debbie) and Debra Hudgins (Robert), all of Asheville; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial will take place at a later date, and flowers may be sent to 42 Lamar Avenue, Asheville, North Carolina 28803.
