Margaret Grace Rada, born on February 5, 1969 in Richmond, Virginia, died in Black Mountain, North Carolina, on June 30, 2025. She was surrounded by those who loved her, after living with cancer with grace, courage and strength. Growing up in Richmond, Virginia, she attended Collegiate School and graduated from Richmond Community High School, an educational experience forming her sense of inclusion and community. After graduating from St. Andrews College, she attended Princeton Theological Seminary, then graduated from Appalachian State with an MA in Counseling.
The epitome of a community builder, Margaret loved everyone and worked to dismantle barriers. She found a vocation in expressive arts therapy and modeled being courageous and vulnerable while listening with her ears and heart. Margaret walked through life with wonder and lived through life dancing. The NC mountains were her physical and spiritual home for over thirty years, with Northern Italy her additional heart home. Her radiant smile, the inevitable joy felt in her presence, and the grace and hope she held on to define her memory.
Margaret's most honored role was that of loving mother to her surviving son, Heath Blake Bradley. She is also survived and deeply loved by her parents, Heath and Peggy (Fish) Rada, her sister, Mary Talmage Rada (Matthew Schroer), her beloved niece, Anna Grace Schroer, and a host of family members and precious friends. A service of remembrance will be held on August 3, 2025 at Anderson Auditorium in Montreat, NC at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to an organization of your choice that reflects Margaret's heart or to a GoFundMe set up for Blake's benefit.
