Martha Mae Gunter

     Martha Mae Gunter of Mills River, North Carolina, died Monday, April 20, 2020, at Hendersonville Health and Rehabilitation. She was eighty, born in Madison County, North Carolina, on February 22, 1940.

     Martha loved to go out and pick raspberries, and to chop wood. She loved her family very much and cooking for them was one of her favorite things to do. Martha was a resident of Mills River for over twenty-five years.

     Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Gunter, and by two sons, Larry Gunter and Marvin Gunter.

     She is survived by her grandchildren, April Gunter of Greenville, South Carolina, and Joey Gunter and Jessica Gunter both of Asheville, North Carolina; seven great-grandchildren; and her daughters-in-law, Maryann Guthrie and Susie Gunter of Etowah, North Carolina.

     Martha’s family extends special thanks to all the nurses at Hendersonville Health and Rehabilitation, and a special thanks to Aundrea. . .  she loved you the most as her nurse, so we thank you.
