Mary Grace Johnson

Mary Grace Johnson May 22, 1939 - November 27, 2019 On November 27, 2019 Mary Grace Johnson, 80 years of age, of Columbus, NC (formerly of Vero Beach, Florida) passed away peacefully at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. Immediately upon her transition she was greeted at the gates of heaven by numerous family members and friends who had gone on before her.

Grace was born into the Johnson family and grafted into the Allen family. She was a beloved sister and aunt to four generations – both by biology and by choice. Even though she never married or had children of her own she was a mother and grandmother to many simply because she loved so completely. She was a faithful and true companion, best friend and neighbor as well and she will be sorely missed.

Her primary professional vocation was in the insurance industry; however, she was a true teacher at heart. Grace touched the lives of hundreds of children as a Vacation Bible School and Sunday School teacher. In addition, she was a wonderful cook and hostess who was willing to open her home to minister to those in need and to celebrate with her friends and family. She was and is deeply loved. She left a legacy of compassion, generosity and acceptance. She is currently in the arms of her Savior, Jesus, and he has whispered the words “well done my good and faithful servant.”

A celebration of her wonderful and full life will be held at First Baptist Church of Wabasso, 4720 86th Pl, Sebastian, Florida on January 18, 2020 at 2:00pm. The Reverend Allen Yarbrough will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Grace’s memory to First Baptist Church of Wabasso.
