Michael Evan Cox

     Michael Evan “Mickey” Cox, 37, of Edneyville, North Carolina, passed away, Tuesday, May 5, 2020 in Edneyville.  

     Mickey was born in Hendersonville, NC, on February 12, 1983, to James Tyler Cox and Michelle Raines Barrett. He was a mechanic and was of Methodist faith. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed working on machinery and engines. He will be greatly missed.

     He was preceded in death by his step father, Patrick Barrett; a grandfather, Bobby Raines; an uncle, Alton Cox; and an aunt, Linda Randall.

     He is survived by his mother, Michelle Barrett of Laurel Park, NC; his father, James Tyler Cox of Marion, NC; a brother, Daniel Lee Cox of Fruitland, NC; a nephew, Cameron Cox of Saluda, NC; his step mother, Pam Cox of Marion, NC; his grandmother, Mary Raines of Mills River, NC; and grandparents, Luther and Joan Cox of Fruitland, NC.

     A memorial service will be held at a later date at Liberty Baptist Church in Edneyville. Pastor Jerry Warren will officiate.
