Mildred Ann Owenby

Mildred Ann Owenby, 76, of Brevard, NC, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Transylvania Regional Hospital. Born July 31, 1949, in Brevard, NC, she was a daughter of the late William and Almeta Ellenburg. She was a member of Carr’s Hill Baptist Church, where she was also the previous pianist. Making and designing crafts were among her favorite things to do. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her spouse, Larry Owenby. Surviving are her children, Kim Bumgarner and her spouse, Mark, and Scott Wilson and his spouse, Michele, all of Brevard, NC; siblings, Pat Bailey and her spouse, John, and Kathy Tinsley and her spouse, Mike, all of Brevard, NC; grandchildren, Nicole Cash of Brevard, NC, Brookelynn Purser and her spouse, Austin, of Unionville, NC, Tyler Wilson and his spouse, Rachel, of Brevard, NC, Rebecca Wilson of Pensacola, FL, and Zachery Wilson of Brevard, NC; five wonderful great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way. A visitation will be held on July 19, 2026, at Carr’s Hill Baptist Church at 3:00 PM. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 PM.
