Pamela Carter Sprague

Pamela Carter Sprague, 62, of Brevard, NC passed away on February 16, 2025 at her home. She was born on August 4, 1962 in Kingsport, TN to the late Eula Faye Carter and Roy Carter. In addition to her parents, Pamela was preceded in death by her brother, Lance Carter.

Pam graduated from Asheville High School at the top 10% of her class. She then attended Berea College in KY, before moving across the country with her growing family and pursuing her Associate of Arts at Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz, CA. Pam was an adventurous spirit, a painter, a singer, a reader, and a fashionista who loved shopping. She spent her time researching and writing about scientific theory, being a loving mother and grandmother, and spending time with friends and neighbors.

Surviving are her children, Lindsey Crabtree (Christopher) of Asheville, NC, Sarah Gauvreau (Sean) of Oak Park, MI; sister, Carolyn Jackson (Charles) of Norfolk, VA; brother, Larry Carter (Theresa) of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Avalon Crabtree of Asheville, NC, Baby Crabtree (due in May 2025) of Asheville, NC; niece, Carly Jackson Hensler (Calvin) of Norfolk, VA; former spouse, Lowell Sprague of Novi, MI; and many beloved friends and neighbors.

A private service for her family and close friends will be held this summer in Pisgah Forest.
