Patricia "Pat" Hope Fore

January 19, 1940 ~ May 13, 2022 (age 82)

Patricia “Pat” Hope Graham Fore passed away Friday, May 13th, 2022 in Mission Hospitals after a protracted illness.  A lifelong native of Buncombe County, Mrs. Fore was the daughter of the late Thomas Morgan Graham and the late Dorothy Beale Graham McGee who passed in 1958 and 2002 respectively.

Pat was a true saint of a person who never met a stranger, accepting anyone who came her way as they were without judgement.  Pat taught elementary school for more than 30 years both in Wake and Buncombe counties.  Pat attended Enka High School, Asheville-Buncombe College, Warren Wilson College, and graduated from Appalachian State University Teaching College prior to earning a Master’s in Education from Western Carolina University.

Pat was truly one of the beautiful people of this world.  She was deeply spiritual in her faith as a Christian servant and applied her remarkably insightful and gifted intelligence in the daily practice of her faith.  Pat was fully involved in the church life of First Baptist Church of Asheville where her family has attended church for five generations.  She was a Bible study leader, small group facilitator, Deaconess, choir member, and devoted participant in FBCA’s missions’ programs both locally and internationally.

To say Pat shall be missed understates the full impact she had on her loved ones, community, and church family.  Those who came into her presence were truly graced.  She was fully and authentically present among friends and strangers alike and was quick to bless anyone who passed her way.

Pat is survived by her husband, Joe David Fore of Asheville, three children, Timothy Daniel Fore of Jupiter, Florida, David Thomas Fore and his wife Lisa of Atlanta, Meredith Ashley Fore Horton and her husband Graham of Asheville, four grandchildren Joshua Fore, Maria Fore, Ella Horton, and Lucy Horton, her sisters Rebecca Elliott and Pamela Knighten as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.  A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Asheville at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 18th with reception to follow.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Asheville’s Missions Program.
