Paul R. Sexton

Paul R. Sexton, age 85, of Weaverville, NC passed away on May 20th, 2024 in Buncombe County, NC.  Paul was born on February 6th, 1939 to the late Eulas Ben Sexton and Waverly Tessner Sexton.  Paul lived the first half of his life in Flint, MI.  He later moved to Weaverville, NC, where he was a 40-year resident.

Paul was a member of Crossroad’s Church.  He was a man of faith and he loved his family dearly.  Paul was employed in construction, where he worked with Sexton’s Drywall for 40 years.

Paul was also an avid auto racer.  He raced for 20 years while in Michigan.  He was very proud of the fact to this day, that he holds the tracks fastest time record.  Live on #80.

Paul is preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Sexton, his son, Paul Sexton Jr, his brother, James Sexton, and his sister, Wanda Pike.  Paul is survived by his children, Sherry Sexton, of Flint, MI, Shannon Purcell, of Asheville, NC, Mark Purcell, of Wilmington, NC, Tom Purcell, of Asheville, NC, and Bernice Sexton, of Asheville, NC.  He is also survived by his sister, Hazel Burnette, of Asheville, NC.
