Paul Edward “Andy” Anderson, Sr., of Hendersonville, North Carolina, died August 31, 2020. He was eighty-eight.
Andy was born to Hattie Parker and Henry Anderson in Birmingham, Alabama, on October 17, 1931. He graduated from Hume-Fogg High School in Nashville, Tennessee, then from Andrews University (Emmanuel Missionary College). Andy served as a United States Marine, then as a minister with the Seventh-Day Adventist. He served in the Kentucky Tennessee Conference, Alabama Mississippi Conference, Florida Conference, Iowa Conference, Carolina Conference, and Georgia Cumberland Conference, and then again with the Kentucky Tennessee Conference. Andy was a Hamm Radio Operator and a bread baker.
Andy was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Sanderson; and sisters Ruth Lemmox and Esther Flatt.
Elizabeth Ann Weaver Anderson, with whom he celebrated seventy years of marriage this past August 4th; his children, Paul E. Anderson, Jr. and his wife Amanda of Nashville, Tennessee, and Cheryl A. Griffin of Columbus, North Carolina; grandchildren Chelsea Anderson of Denver, Colorado, P.J. Anderson and Claire of Nashville, Tennessee, Ricky Owen of Columbus, North Carolina, Sheri Gordon along with her husband Robert and sons Tré, Eli and Owen of Flat Rock, North Carolina, Randall Sanderson and Kelsey; great-granddaughter Frankie: granddaughter Anna Pacheco and husband Cristhian great-granddaughter Gianna and great-grandson Daniel; and by many nieces and nephews.
Interment will be at Mt. Olivet, Tennessee.
