Peggy Jean Jones

            Peggy Jean Jones of East Flat Rock, North Carolina, passed August 31, 2023. Born to the late Ralph and Dorothy Atkins in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Peggy was seventy-three.

            She was a previous resident of Willow Road in Etowah, North Carolina. Peggy loved to plant flowers, sew, paint and draw.

            In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, George Jones, a son, Joseph Jones, and a sister, Judy Cape.

            She is survived by her children, Melinda Meece and husband Scott of Arden, Karen Pippin and husband Greg of Arden, Sheila Jones of Fletcher, Debra Rice of East Flat Rock, Tonya Jones of East Flat Rock, David Jones and wife Shanua of Hendersonville, and adopted daughter, Tammy Brown; siblings, Helen Atkins of Saluda, Ricky Atkins of East Flat Rock, and Wayne Atkins and his wife Pam of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Kerri, Andrew, Brittney, Jessica, Filicia, Christopher, Ashley and Sara; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

            No formal services are planned at this time, though Peggy’s family will receive family and friends at Peggy’s home (11 Leisure Lane, East Flat Rock, North Carolina).

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.
