Phillip Alan Hartman

Phillip Alan Hartman, age 84, a resident of Fairview, NC passed away on April 19th, 2023 at his home in Fairview.  Phillip was born on November 5th, 1938 to the late Harry William Hartman and Marjorie Louise Miller Hartman.

Phillip graduated from Emory University with a Ph.D. in Mathematics.  He was a professor of Mathematics at the University of NC at Asheville and Mars Hill University.  Phillip was an accomplished builder of Free Flight Model Airplanes.  He started Blue Ridge Models, a business manufacturing model kits.  He also played clarinet with the Asheville Community Band.

Phillip is survived by his loving spouse of 27 years, Georgie Anne Henson Hartman.  He is also survived by his son, David Hartman (Mary), of Mills River, NC and his grandson, Devin Hartman, of Corvallis, OR.
