Ramona Cheryl Thornton

Ramona Cheryl Thornton of Asheville, North Carolina, died April 3, 2024. She was born September 9, 1962, to the late Billy George Thornton and Glenda Janis Goad Thornton in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

            Ramona was an alumnus of Liberty-Eylau High School, Texarkana Community College, East Texas Baptist University, Texas A&M University, and East Texas State University. She was a member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association and the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinal Mental Health Counselors.

            Ramona is survived by Esther Sophia Cummings and Beatrice Isabella Cummings, both of Asheville; sister, Myra Maddox; and nephew, Clint Maddox, and nieces, Sonya Maddox and Abby Stinson.

            A Celebration of Life will be held from six-thirty to eight o’clock the evening of September 9, 2024, at Pavillion #1 of Spring Lake Park in Texarkana, Texas. Condolences may be shared at AshevilleMortuaryServices.com.
