René Davis Clay Jordan

          Rene Davis Clay Jordan was born September 8th, 1942  in Amarillo, Texas. Rene departed this earth September 15, 2020, to join her Heavenly Father and to be with her family who passed before her.

          Rene was born to Gilbert Aaron Davis and Winnie Mae Davis. She was the youngest of their 5 children. Rene was born in and grew up in Amarillo, Texas. She attended Palo Duro High School. Rene married Leroy (Pete) Clay in 1958 and is the mother of three children, Jody Clay, Kenneth Clay and Julie Ann Lovingood. Rene is preceded in death by both her parents, step father, Floyd Shuffler, sisters, Helen Davis Cheek, Rhonda Davis Jacobs, Duwanna Davis Graham and half-sister Charlotte Ann Shuffler Frost. Both her brothers, Charles Gilbert Davis and Benny Joe Davis also preceded her in death. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

          Private family memorial services will be held for Rene at a later time. As she requested, her ashes will be scattered alongside those of her sister, Rhonda Jacobs, near Palo Duro Canyon State Park, in Canyon, Texas.
