Robert Eugene Du Brock, Sr., of Asheville, North Carolina, passed Wednesday, October 13, 2021. He was eighty-six.
Robert was born May 25, 1935, to the late Ruth Elizabeth Bierhaus Du Brock and Harold James Du Brock in Chicago, Illinois. He had numerous automotive certifications, and worked as an automotive repairman. Auto racing was of great interest to him, and he enjoyed watching Nascar with family. In the 1960s, Robert raced funny cars himself. His drag racing car was known as “Mr. Ford’s Aggravation.” Robert served in the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his spouse, Joyce Ann Du Brock; siblings, Richard Du Brock, Haroldine Lainio, Norine Hevener and Edward Du Brock; daughter-in-law, Nina Lullo Du Brock; and niece, Lori Lainio.
He is survived by his children, Bob Du Brock (Sue) of Spokane, Washington, Randall Du Brock (Becky Blakeney) of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Rhonda Hall of Candler, North Carolina, Renee Lozano (Mark) of Montgomery, Alabama, Rebecca Maney (Mitch Robinson) of Maggie Valley, North Carolina, Brenda Du Brock of Tennessee, Donald Du Brock (Anna) of Asheville, North Carolina, Barbara Gregory (Wayne) of Port Charlotte, Florida, Beverly Pappas of Newport News, Virginia, and Jimmy Bates; sisters-in-law Sandra Du Brock of Chicago, Illinois, and Helen Du Brock of Melbourne, Florida; nineteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
