Robert T. Hutchins

Robert T Hutchins, age 85, of Swannanoa NC went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by family on Monday, July 7, 2025.

Robert was a life-long resident of Swannanoa, he loved the Lord, hunting, and his family very much.

Robert was born April 25th, 1940, to late William Lee Hutchins and Edith Lyda Hutchins. In addition to his parents, Robert was also preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 65 years, Wanda Allen Hutchins, in addition to his parents and wife he is preceded in death by five sisters and one brother, Barbara Jean Hutchins, Ruth Ann Hutchins, Betty Bartlett, Mary “Sis” Creasman, Nancy Bartlett, and James Bill Hutchins. His favorite daughter-in-law, Elaine Hutchins.

Left to cherish his memory his blessed (best parents ever) kids, Vicki Kuykendall (Gary), Keith Hutchins; Sister, Elaine Pressley (Ronnie); seven grandchildren, Khristie Childress, Jennifer Baars, Jessica Mosley (Stephen), Mike Hutchins (Kaytie), Gary Kuykendall Jr, Amanda Hutchins, Tracy Evans (Ryan). His beloved sisters-in-laws, Barbra Stroupe, Deborah Hamby, Janis Aydelette, Sharon Jackson, Linda Hutchins. Also, twelve great grandkids, and one grandson-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Robert and Wanda were known for praying for their family and doing their best to share the love of Jesus Christ with each and everyone.

A drop by visitation, celebration of life will be held at Penland Family Funeral Home at 125 South Ave, Swannanoa, NC 28778 on July 19th from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
