Robert Mitchell Landau, 87, of Laurel Park, NC passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at The Lodge at Mills River.
Bob was born in New York City on January 25, 1931 to the late Abraham and Pauline Raphael Landau. He was married to his wife of thirty two years, Jane Wilson Landau. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Bob was an attorney and a member of the New York, Washington D.C., and Connecticut Bar Associations. He was a registered Maine Guide and a member of the Chiputneticook Lakes International Conservancy. Bob was an avid fisherman and fly-tier who loved fishing lakes in Washington County, Maine.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Landau.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Landau; two step daughters, Abigail Ross and husband Adam of Nairobi, Kenya and Melissa Cate and husband Adam of Colchester, Vermont; a step son, Grant Jed Nelson and wife Pam of Waterbury, Vermont; a grandson, Jack Young; four granddaughters, Grace Young, Teagan Ross, Maeve Ross, and Lucy Nelson; a niece, Leslie Flowers and husband Mike; three nephews, Alan Landau and wife Beth, Jamie Landau and wife Theresa, and Russ Landau and wife Rebecca; a sister in law, Elayne Landau; a brother in law, David Wilson; and a former sister in law, Joan Rich.
A private family celebration of Bob’s life will be held later this year in Maine.
