Robert Carl Penland, 69, of Candler, NC, gained his heavenly wings on January 5, 2026. Born on July 8, 1956, in Asheville, North Carolina, to the late Larry W. Penland and Brenda J. Penland. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his precious cat, Rio.

Surviving Robert are his siblings, Recia Penland and Cathy Penland of Candler, NC; nephews, Adam Cabe (Amanda) of Candler, NC, and Alan Cabe of Canton, NC; aunt, Sharon Wallen of Tacoma, Wa; great nephew, Joey Cabe; great nieces, Lillie and Maggie Brogan; and most precious little friend, Maddie Singleton.
