Roger D. Golden Sr., of Mills River, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 13,2025.
Roger was born on July 24, 1949 to the late Steve Golden Jr. (1982) and Susie Golden (2007) in Kentucky. Though he was born in Kentucky, Roger moved to Florida with his family and grew up in the Cocoa area.
Roger became a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He was a dedicated Bellsouth employee for 33 years.
Roger and his wife Jackie lived a life of adventure. They built several homes in Florida, Tennessee, and North Carolina. Though Roger always called NC “Home”, because he loved the mountains. His Mills River Home became his “Happy Place” and he took great pride in maintaining his property and completing numerous building projects.
Roger enjoyed a great sense of humor and felt that he never met a stranger. Of his many interests, music was a favorite ad he enjoyed all genres. He even practiced harmonica and guitar as a hobby. Roger had friends and family all over the country and will be missed by all.
Surviving Roger is his wife of 34 years, Jackie Golden; children, Roger Dale Golden Jr. of Guilderland, NY and Laura Jean Martyna of Concord, NC; and sister, Joann Holzlohner of Rockledge, FL.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, love and support during this difficult time.
