Roger Dale Prater

     Roger Dale Prater, age seventy-three, died Friday, May 29, 2020, at his home in Swannanoa, North Carolina.

     Roger was born November 22, 1946, to Celia Mae Justice and Cecil Prater in Buncombe County. He grew up to be an avid hunter and fisherman.

     Roger was preceded in death by wife, Virginia Prater; and by two siblings, Larry Prater and Carolyn Effler.

     Surviving him are his two children, Tammy Seay of Swannanoa, North Carolina, and Pamela Baker and her husband Robert of Fresno, California; three brothers, Terry Prater of Burnsville, North Carolina, Darryl Dillingham and his wife Mary Frances of Alexander, North Carolina, and Claude Dillingham of Weaverville, North Carolina; his grandchildren, Christopher Johnson of Spruce Pine, North Carolina, and Amanda Walker of Candler, North Carolina; great-grandchildren Christopher Walker of Swannonoa, North Carolina, and Hayden Johnson of Curoso, North Carolina; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

     A memorial service will be held in Roger’s honor at a later date.
