Ronald E. Turner, 81, of Hendersonville, NC recently passed away after a courageous battle against cancer. Ron was born December of 1941 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Charles and Dorothy (Schneider) Turner. He was the favorite brother and youngest sibling to sisters Lois, Betty and Nancy. A 1960 graduate of Chuckery-Darby High School in Unionville Center, Ohio, Ron had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important—family and service to others.
His most proud achievements were marrying his lovely bride, Ruth (Brush), in September of 1963; being Father to Renee and Rita; being Grandpa to Jeff, Michelle, Nathan, and Kirsten; and being Great Grandpa to Carson and Griffin. He instilled in them the meaning of integrity, the value of hard work, and the benefit of a job well done.
A memorial service for Ron is scheduled to be held in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, Hendersonville. In lieu of flowers, please continue Ron’s service to others and make our world better than it was yesterday. Donations in his honor may be made to the Roy Johnson Sunday School Class Scholarship Fund or Backpack Program at Hendersonville First United Methodist Church or Four Seasons Hospice of Hendersonville.
