Roxanna Mae Yates Ramsey, 52, of Fletcher, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2021 following an extended illness. She was born August 2, 1968 in Canton, Ohio to the late McKinley Calvin Yates of Banner Elk, North Carolina and Mary Leona Pace of Fletcher, North Carolina.
She Graduated from West Henderson High School with the class of 1986. Most recently she was a medical coding and billing specialist with Med Oasis But previously worked many years in customer service roles for BiLo grocery stores, Home Trust bank and Park Ridge Hospital. After she became ill Roxanna developed a passion for nail art. It was therapeutic for her and she often overwhelmed everyone with her designs. She was especially proud to be called Nana and used her skill in nail design as a way to bond with her granddaughters. Together they spent countless precious hours talking about her love for the beach, her favorite color was black, she was fond of red especially red fire and ice roses. They will forever remember her favorite saying for them “I love you to the moon and back!”
In addition to her mother she is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, John Ramsey of Fletcher, North Carolina a son, Jonathan Ramsey, granddaughters; Adily Ramsey and Jaylee Ramsey, also of Fletcher, North Carolina, sisters; Deborah L Johnson of Newland, North Carolina, Judy Arnold and husband Ronald of Ohio and Nina Yates of Colorado. Brothers; Lewis Carol Johnson of Newland, North Carolina, Larry Wayne Johnson and wife Sherry of Newland, North Carolina, Harold Douglas Yates of New Mexico, James Calvin Yates of Ohio, Retired Chief Calvin McKinney and wife Tammy Yates of New Mexico and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In honor of Roxanna’s love of the beach and all things related to the ocean, the family will hold a private Oceanside memorial at a later date.
