Roxanne (Yanavok) O'Shields

Roxanne Yanavok O’Shields, 63, of Brevard, North Carolina, passed away on September 30, 2021, at the Transylvania Regional Hospital in Brevard, North Carolina.  Roxanne was born in Dover, New Jersey, on April 9, 1958, to the late James Harold Yanavok, who passed away in 1992, and the late Gloria Morgan Yanavok, who passed away in 2007.  Roxanne is also preceded in death by her sister, Kelly Ann Yanavok. 

Roxanne attended Hollywood Finishing School, where she received her high school diploma, before moving to Brevard, North Carolina.  She loved spending time with her family, teaching youth church groups, helping everyone, spreading the word of God, making people laugh, playing pool, and loving everyone.

Roxanne is survived by her loving spouse of forty-eight years, Vaughn Russell O’Shields, daughter, Dawn Hooper (Chase), of Landrum, South Carolina; sons, Scott O’Shields, of Brevard, North Carolina, and Justin O’Shields (Kimberly), of Brevard, North Carolina; sister, Gloria Ann Maddox, of Albany, Georgia; brother, James Harold Yanavok, Jr., of East Flat Rock, North Carolina; grandchildren, Bentley O’Shields, of Brevard, North Carolina, Andrew McMahon, of Brevard, North Carolina, Hannah Holden, of Brevard, North Carolina, Jake Hooper, of Landrum, South Carolina, Shane Hooper, of Landrum, South Carolina, Sierra Hooper, of Landrum, South Carolina, Tristen O’Shields, of Charlotte, North Carolina, Johnathan O’Shields, of Bakersville, North Carolina, Gwen O’Shields, of Portal, Georgia, Justin Kilpatrick, of Asheville, North Carolina, and seven great-grandchildren.
