Russell Neal Woodward, 59, of Old Fort, North Carolina, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019, at Mission St. Joseph Hospital in Asheville.
Russell was born on June 17, 1960, in Sedallia, MO, to Mayme Sue Schoenberger Rowell and the late Lee Burton Woodward. He was married to his wife of thirty six years, Linda Jackson Woodward. He worked at Crane Resistoflex. Russell’s passion was his family. He fell in love with a woman who had two children. It was not always easy for him, but he was up to the task. The children called him, Dad and the grandchildren called him, Papa. He loved fishing, even though he wasn’t very good at it. He did manage to drown a lot of worms. He loved playing golf, but wasn’t good at it either. He enjoyed looking for the ball when he sliced it, however. His true love was family and barbequing. He will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Woodward of Old Fort; his mother, Mayme Sue Rowell; two sons, Jason S. Jackson of Newnan, GA and JR Limback (Katie) of Callahan, FL; three brothers, Garry Woodward of MO, Wade Woodward of AK, and Joe Woodward of MO; two sisters, Wanda Decker and Michele Kroft, both of MO; five grandsons, Tristen Jackson of GA, CJ Limback of FL, Ethan Jackson of GA, Shane Eskew of FL, and Neal Limback of FL; three granddaughters, Addison Hall of IA, Hannah Jackson of GA, and Reagan Limback of FL; a great granddaughter, Scotlyn Banks of TX; and a great grandson, Zhane Roberts of IA.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.ashevillemortuaryservices.com.
