Sandra (McDonald) Smith

Sandra “Sandy” McDonald Smith passed away on October 3 succumbing to her long-term illness. Sandy was the eldest child of the late Wallace and Audrey McDonald. She was preceded in death by her true love, her husband Jim and her sister Cindy McDonald. She is survived by her son, Jason, sister Tammy Church, brother Marty McDonald, nephews John Russell and Jake Penland, and her lifelong friends, Judy and Lois; all of Asheville. 

Sandy was a hairdresser at the Asheville Mall, worked at Bussman until NAFTA and was a housekeeper at the Black Mountain Center & Mission Hospital. Her sense of humor was only eclipsed by her love of God and family. 

A private celebration of Sandy’s life will take place near her birthdate in November.
