Sarah Clinkscales Obituary

A brilliant light has moved forward from earth towards the heavens. Our precious sweet sister, Sarah Glenn Clinkscales, has joined her parents and all her many four-legged children in her celestial paradise. She was surrounded by her family, and serenaded with her own playlist of music that she loved.
Sarah leaves behind the deepest part of her heart in her children, Elijah Ray Clinkscales-King and Ian Glenn Clinkscales-King. These sons were at the center of her universe.  She is also survived by her former partner, Dustin King, her sisters, Martha Jo Clinkscales (David Forquer) and Rose Lynne Bowman (Tim); her Uncle, Tom Ramsey, her Aunt, Kate Ramsey, her cousins Ann Ayers (Darrell), Elizabeth Lieser (Jim), Lara Ramsey, and Mariah Mitchell; beloved nieces and nephews, Ramsey (Pat), Mary Kathryn (Colin), Sam (Gail), Turner (Claudia), Eugenie, and Rush, as well as great-nephews Bo and James, and great-niece, Josie.
It is a toss-up as to which Sarah loved more--two-legged or four-legged creatures!  She was infamous for ordering full meals, “with a water bowl on the side” at her beloved restaurant, Wicked Weed, for all four-legged patrons.  Sarah never met a stray that didn’t find a home, often with her. She leaves behind Laverne, River, Chief, and Althea, as well as a pig named Ziggy.  Sarah found comfort, joy, and affection in this pig for whom she was a surrogate mother and gourmet chef.
To have known Sarah is to have loved Sarah, and that circle is wide and deep. Sarah’s last wish would have been to wish all of you many more joyous “trips around the sun.” On behalf of our family we thank you for loving her, enjoying her and lifting her up. We thank you for your prayers as we grieve the loss of our irreplaceable, kind and loving sister, mother, aunt, cousin, and friend.
A celebration of her life will be held at HaikuIdo, 26 Sweeten Creek Road, Asheville, North Carolina, 28803 on Wednesday July 20 at 6 pm, sponsored by Jennifer Zyla of Haikuido, and Ryan Guthy of Wicked Weed.  Please bring flowers to share and exchange.
On September 3, 2022, we will celebrate her life again, at Decatur Presbyterian Church in Decatur, Georgia at 11 am. Sarah will be laid to rest next to her best friend in life, her mother.
A trust has been established for each of her sons.  Donations can be made at any Wells Fargo Branch, using the name of her sons, Elijah and Ian Clinkscales-King, or by mailing a check, payable to Timothy J Bowman, FBO Elijah Clinkscales-King/Ian Clinkscales-King to 1708 W. First Street Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27104.

Fare you well, fare you well
I love you more than words can tell
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
To rock my soul.

Walk into splintered sunlight
Inch your way through dead dreams to another land
Maybe you're tired and broken
Your tongue is twisted with words half spoken and thoughts unclear
What do you want me to do
To do for you, to see you through?
A box of rain will ease the part and love will see you through.
