Shirley Woodring Young

Shirley Woodring Young, 68, of Rosman, NC passed away on April 18, 2025. Shirley was born in Transylvania County on November 14, 1956 to the late Joseph and Betty Woodring. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ken Young; sisters, Kansada (Kandy) Ledford, Martha Jean Woodring; and nephew, John Anthony Ledford.

Surviving Shirley are her children, Shirley Marie Stepp (Jimmy) of Brevard, NC, James Danny Burgess Jr. (Deanna) of Forrest City, NC; sisters, Brenda Winebarger of Saucier, MS, Sandy Houck of Brevard, NC; brother, Jody Woodring of Leesburg, FL; grandchildren, James Stepp, Juli Freck, Kaitlyen McCall, James Burgess, Annalee Burgess, Charles Burgess; great-grandchildren, Delilah, Dean, Adalyn; nephews, Bubba Owen, Scott Garland, Joseph Ledford; niece, Rebecca Sizemore; 2 great nephews; and 1 great niece.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
