Teresa Rose Manicone

Teresa Rose “Terri” “Babe” Manicone, 93, of Asheville, North Carolina, passed away at home April 4, 2022. Born October 15, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York to the late D. Margaret (Basile) Bennicasa and G. Dominic Bennicasa.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Carmine Manicone.

Teresa is survived by her sons, Thomas “Tommy” (wife, Mary) Manicone of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Carmine Manicone Jr. of Asheville, North Carolina; daughter, Marguerite Manicone of Asheville, North Carolina; brother, Frank “Sonny” (wife, Reha) Bennicasa of Merrick, New York; grandsons, Dominic (wife, Jordin) of Greenville, South Carolina, Michael Angelo (wife, Jordan) of Cumming, Georgia; great-grandchildren, Beckett and Emmeline of Greenville, South Carolina, and Marlee of Cumming, Georgia; niece Gina Gallart (husband, Joe) of Merrick, New York.

Teresa loved cooking, sewing, ceramics, embroidery and painting among all arts and crafts. She was a homemaker most of her life, living in Babylon, Long Island and Wellington, Florida before moving to Asheville six years ago. She was a Seventh-Day Adventist. Teresa was orthographic, and had a Mensa level IQ. She enjoyed participating in book clubs, bridge clubs and tennis clubs.

There will be a Memorial Service May 14th, Saturday, in late afternoon, at Erwin Hills SDA Church, 50 Mt. Carmel Rd, Asheville, NC, 28806.

Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery in Queens, New York in July, followed by another Memorial Service. The family will announce further details regarding services at a later date.
