Teresa Gail Sutton passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026.
Born November 11, 1941, in Memphis, Tennessee, she later lived in St. Petersburg, Florida, and spent the last 38 years of her life in North Carolina, most recently in Asheville.
Teresa loved Jesus with her whole heart and lived her life sharing His love with others. She found joy serving the homeless, listening to music in the streets of Asheville, and praising with her tambourine. She was a devoted hairstylist for many years and once owned Crown and Glory Beauty Salon in St. Petersburg, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her son, Louis Guy Montesi (2022).
She is survived by her children, Dabney Ashley Whitt (Stephen) and Christian Clay Ashley (Jeanette); grandchildren Kayla Dawn Hart (Dylan), Devon Isaiah Ashley, Michael Ashley, and Corey Wayne Whitt (Alexis); and great-grandchildren Aiva Rose Whitt, Adelynn Moon Whitt, and Reighlynn Mae Whitt.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, May 24, 2026, 4pm - 6pm Tabernacle of Praise, 106 Old Airport Rd., Fletcher, NC 28732
All who knew and loved Teresa are welcome. The family invites you to come share stories and celebrate her beautiful life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Salvation Army and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
