Theresa Nadine Whitmire

Theresa Nadine Whitmire, 76, of Brevard, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord Friday, May 31, 2019.

Theresa was born in Clyde, North Carolina, to Billie Haynes and Ralph Wilton Davis. She graduated from Lee Edwards High School and from Mars Hill College. Theresa spent a fruitful career teaching in both the Asheville City and Transylvania County School systems during her career.

Theresa is preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Maxwell McKay Whitmire.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Lawrence Bryce Whitmire; her children, Van C. Whitmire of Hendersonville, NC and Kelly Joe and Sherry M. Whitmire of Cherryfield, NC; her siblings, Ralph Wilton Davis and Terri Davis of Arden, NC and Trudy Heyward and George Heyward of Raleigh, NC. She adored her grandchildren, Michael Cody Whitmire and Lacey Whitmire of Fletcher, NC, Lane Morgan Whitmire and Lexy Whitmire of Monroe, LA, Alic Slate Whitmire of Seneca, SC, Dylan Blake Zachary and Alexa Zachary of Winston Salem, NC.

The family will hold a memorial service at 6pm on 7-5-19 at North Toxaway Baptist Church. Condolences to the family may be made at AshevilleMortuaryServices.com.
