Thomas Monroe Sumner, seventy-six, passed Friday, December 3, 2021, at home in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
Tom was a lifelong resident of Hendersonville, born February 16, 1945. He retired from General Electric. Tom was a loving husband to Pamella Sumner and a devoted father to Roxanne Sumner and Rhonda Sumner Cox (Christopher). He is also survived by two grandchildren, Christian Cox and Reagan Cox (Austin), and a brother, Earl Sumner (Janice).
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, John and Annie Sumner, his sister, Carolyn Maxwell, Fred Sumner, Bill Sumner and Jack Sumner.
Tom loved the Lord, his family, and the UNC Tarheels. The most important thing to him was meeting his family in Heaven.
A service will be held to honor Tom at three o’clock the afternoon of Satuday, December 11, 2021, at Upward Seventh-day Adventist Church. Special thanks are extended to Blue Ridge Fire Department, and to Dr. Tryon and hospice.
