Timothy Shawn Ledford

Timothy Shawn Ledford, 64, of Burnsville, NC passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. Born October 27, 1961 in Asheville, NC, he was a son of the late Lee and Frances Ledford. In 1980, he graduated from Clyde A. Erwin High School and in 2024, he retired from Grigg Electric after many years of service. He was an avid carp fisherman and possessed a magnetic personality which drew people to him. Tim loved his Lord, his family, and his dogs.

Surviving are his spouse of 17 years, Karen Macy Ledford; children, Chad Higgins of Durham, NC, Lindsey Higgins and her spouse, Dereck, of Marshall, NC, Kendra Ledford and her spouse, Michael, of Asheville, NC, and Shawnah Ledford of Burnsville, NC; siblings, Carol Morrow and her spouse, Jim, of Townsville, SC, Mike Ledford and his spouse, Judy, of Seneca, SC, Teresa Johnson and her spouse, Mike, of Asheville, NC, Linda Silvers and her spouse, Mike, of Asheville, NC, and Steve Ledford, of Burnsville, NC; thirteen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one great-grandson on the way; and many nieces, nephews, and canine companions.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Freedom Baptist Church, 50 Rice Road, Asheville, NC 28806 of which he was a member. Rev. Kellen Griffin and Rev. Harold Laughlin will be officiating the service.  The family will receive friends following the service.
