Wayne Robert Wetmore

Wayne Robert Wetmore, 72, of Woodfin passed away unexpectedly after a short illness on April 20, 2025 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. Born on December 14, 1952 in Jamestown, NY, to the late Robert and Virginia (Tubbs) Wetmore.

At the age of four, he moved with his family to Ocala, FL, and later to the Orlando area, where he lived for many years. In 1970, he graduated with honors from Forest Lake Academy in Apopka, FL. He attended Southern Missionary College (now Southern Adventist University) in Collegedale, TN, where he studied accounting and history. In the late 1980’s, he moved his family to Asheville, NC, where he has preferred to live since. He spent his working years as a retail manager, tax preparer, and inventory taker. He was a history buff, who loved to travel regionally and within the United States. He also avidly followed politics.

Surviving Wayne are his daughters, Kristina Hodson(Kyle) of Springfield, OR, Rebecca Wetmore(Kyle) of Eugene, OR, Alisha Beirl(Tim) of Enterprise, OR; grandchildren, Kaleb Anderson, Kolton Anderson, Trinity Wetmore, Noah Cook, Cali Beirl; and sister, Marie Smith(Jerry) of Molalla, OR.

He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
