William Craig Nixon, 83, of Leicester, North Carolina, passed away, Friday, May 22, 2020, at his residence.
Mr. Nixon was born in Weehawkin, New Jersey, on June 6, 1936, to the late Harold Dewey Nixon and Delna Pauline Culver Nixon. He attended Ramsey High School in Ramsey, NJ and Valley Forge Military Academy in Wayne, PA. He was the owner and operator of Tricounty Motorcycle and Pompton Feed and Supply in Riverdale, NJ. Mr. Nixon was a hard worker who enjoyed racing motorcycles. He was a member of the American Motorcycle Association for 60 years. He was an active Mason and Shriner. For 59 years, he was a member of Genesis Lodge No. 88 F.&A.M. in Pompton Lakes, NJ. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold D. Nixon, Jr.; and two sisters, Laura Kidd and Dawn Sutz.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 63 years, Janet Louise Doriot Nixon of Leicester, NC; two daughters, Christine L. Nixon Jonsdotter & husband Steven of Durham, NC and Sandra G. Nixon LaPointe & husband Tim of Dallas, TX; two sisters, Gwen Harrington and Barbara Lilland, both of Florida; six grandchildren, Erin N. LaPointe Murawski & husband Brian of Dallas, TX, Matthew D. Jonsdotter of Durham, NC, Jared Jonsdotter of Durham, NC, Kyle N. LaPointe & wife Mackenzie of Denver, CO, Michael Jonsdotter of Weaverville, NC, and David Jonsdotter of Durham, NC; and a great grandson, Jackson A. LaPointe of Denver, CO.
