William “Bill” Warren Weldner, 81, died in his home in Spring Creek, NC on August 16, 2023. Bill was born on May 16, 1942 in Mineola, Long Island, NY to William Weldner and Charlotte (Happ) Weldner. He was shortly preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Elizabeth “Liz” Weldner. He is survived by his family, including his sister Sue Dowds (Dennis) of New York and her daughter Theresa Adams (David) and their children. Bill was a consummate artist across media types and exhibited his work nationally. He dedicated his to life creating art, teaching and mentoring artists. He was known for his kind and gentle nature and his ability to build community through his classes. The love of art is something he and Liz had in common and they spent 43 years creating in each other’s company. Bill taught in the Johnstown NY Public School System and was the Head of the Art Department at Fulton-Montgomery Community College. He and Liz owned Fripp Arts Gallery and Barefoot Bubbas in Beaufort, SC, before opening Creek View Studio in Hot Springs, NC. A scholarship in Bill’s name has been established at Fulton-Montgomery Community College. Bill’s Celebration of Life will be on September 9, 2023 at the Spring Creek Community Center in Hot Springs, NC from 3-6pm.
