Lynch Whitmire Jr., 76, passed away on September 11, 2017. He was born on April 4, 1941 to Mamie Boley Whitmire and Lynch Whitmire Sr. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by; siblings Arthur Whitmire (Geraldine), Otis Whitmire ( Eveley), Lucille Whitmire and Judith Orr (Bud); and daughter Carolyn Waldrop. Lynch is survived by Alda “Geraldine” his wife of almost 56 years ; siblings Bruce Whitmire (Lana), Doug Whitmire, and Margaret Ann Whitmire; children Leslie (Nancy Owen Whitmire) Whitmire, Rita Whitmire, Ricky Whitmire, Tony (Brenda) Whitmire, Melissa Whitmire with partner Claudine Hudson, and Chrissy (Christopher) Whitmire Brice; Bobbie Bracken who they raised like a daughter; grandchildren Nathan Mathis, Chris Whitmire, Charise McIntosh Roberts, Jennifer Hale, Cheyenne Whitmire, Lynch Whitmire III, Waylon Whitmire, Dennis Whitmire, Anna Ward, Allen Whitmire, Gabrielle Hudson, Layton Hudson, Maddison Hudson, Eric Howell, Tashena Henderson, Marika Hudson and Robert Hudson ; and great-grandchildren  Brayden McIntosh, Tytus Sanders, Reannah Sanders, Ayla Roberts, Aryn Roberts, Layla McCall, Gareigh Lively, Timothy Whitmire, Daniel Ward, Noah Ward, Adrian Whitmire, Alyena Borgia, Tezaria Howell, Zamaria Howell, Maeyara Howell, Eriana Howell, and Thaddian Sanders. The family apologizes if they left anyone out.

Lynch retired from Ryobi after 38 years, and then worked at BI-LO for 6 years. He also worked for the town of Rosman for 12 years.
