Rita R. Drew, 87, passed away October 23, 2017 at the Laurels of GreenTree Ridge in Asheville, NC.

She was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in New Bern, NC. She was a retired Lt. Col. of the US Air Force and a teacher. She is predeceased by her parents, Ruth and Cicero Houston.

Rita was a member of The Basilica of St. Lawrence and The Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites

A funeral mass will be held November 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM at The Basilica of St. Lawrence, 97 Haywood St. Asheville, NC 28801 with Rev. Fr. C. Morris Boyd officiating. Interment will follow at 12:00 PM at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
