Charles “Jack” Jackie Queen, 74, of Asheville died April 4, 2017 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Charles Frank and Lela Mae Briggs Queen. He retired after 58 years as a paint contractor. Fishing and golf were among his many passions in life, but nothing was more enjoyable to Jack than spending time with his family. Surviving are his sons: Charles Michael Queen of California, Mark Gregory Queen of Arden, James Brian Queen of Columbia, S.C., and Robert Franklin Queen of Columbia, S.C.; step-son, Terry Morrow of Candler; sister and best friend, Barbara Farr of Asheville; six grandsons; three granddaughters; one great-grandson; one great-granddaughter, and many cousins. He also left behind his longtime friend and “brother”, Bobby Jo Keever. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Asheville.
