Jerry Ray “JJ” Justus, a lifelong resident of Leicester, passed away November 4, 2017, at Mission St. Joseph Hospital in Asheville at the age of 74.

Mr. Justus was a son of the late Louie and Thelma Moena Moore Justus. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by stepsons, Danny and Kenneth King.

Mr. Justus was a self-employed carpenter and had a drive for fixing and tinkering with things.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Joyce Franklin Justus of the home; daughter, Moena of Atlanta, GA; step-children, Lisa of Atlanta, GA, Wally, Reta (Artie), Deborah (Shane), Cyndi (Ronnie) all of Leicester; brother, Louie Justus of Candler; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held by the family.
